An Embodied Menopause

An Embodied approach to the Perimenopause, Menopause and beyond - education on when and how this life cycle takes place, an embodied psycho-spiritual map to locate yourself on - The Journey of the Menopause.

We will explore through movement, breath work and nervous system regulating practises that offer nourishment, solace and balance for this powerful phase/rites of passage within the feminine lifecycle. 

There will be discussion on how to provide support in other areas of life - food strategy,  nutritional supplements, life style and self-coaching and boundary setting.

I’m passionate about supporting women through this phase through somatic coaching, yoga, breathwork and KFunctional Kiniesiology and co-run a Perimenopause Yoga Facilitator training for Yoga Teachers Forum. Suitable for those approaching perimenopause, in the midst of it or beyond.

One of the loveliest things we can do as the days grow darker is to turn our hand to creative endeavours such as baking and crafting. These slowww pursuits create a mindful landscape in which to rest in. Mother nature is leading by example as the nights grow longer and the leaves fall to the ground, and the earth becomes still and quiet. So often though we find ourselves entering winter and doing exactly the opposite! Let’s instead embrace the rhythms of nature and slow down our bodies and minds through slow mindful ways of being.

The Perimenopause is a time of great change, vulnerability and transition, not just to our lives but also to our bodies, and the pelvis in particular.It is the time that the menstrual cycle starts to fluctuate and eventually stop and this has implications for women physically as well as psychologically.

Therefore it is an ideal time to pay attention to this powerful part of the female body, to connect, create awareness and cultivate health and vitality.

This workshop will give a brief outline and understanding on what can arise with the female pelvis within the time of the perimenopause from a bio/psycho/social lens.

Somatics allows the body to sense and move rather than being imposed on. This creates fertile ground for deep nervous system regulation, self-awareness, emotional wellbeing, playfulness and pleasure. Breathwork and Meditation - a 4 week online course . Simple and accessible practises for all bodies and ages. £34

Each session will start with movement to help land you in your body, to ease any tension or stress and to free up the diaphragm so your breath has full potential to flow in your body. We will not be imposting any particular techniques onto the breath, instead uncovering your fluid natural breath . This is particularly useful for those experiencing stress, anxiety or are post-illness. This will lead us into simple meditation practises to explore stillness and space in body and mind.

All practises will be accessible for all bodies no matter of mobility, fitness or age. They also can be practised whilst sat in a chair.
